IFRA is the Illinois member of EMA, the Energy Marketers of America, the national association for energy marketers. IFRA members are automatically members in EMA.

We also work incredibly closely with NACS, the National Association of Convenience Stores, as well as NATSO, the National Association of Truck Stop Operators.

Members are encouraged to join these national groups at their annual D.C. fly-in events to lobby members of Congress.

IFRA members interact with the local, state and federal government in thousands of ways.

Whether you have questions about the Office of the State Fire Marshal and the Underground Storage Tank Fund, or the Illinois EPA permitting process, or the Department of Public Health’s food inspections, or the Department of Agriculture’s Bureau of Weights and Measures testing your pumps, we help members navigate the complex world of government.

The Midwest Petroleum and Convenience Trade Show (M-PACT) is the premiere regional trade show for our industry. Illinois is a member state of M-PACT along with Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio.

Every spring, M-PACT puts on its show in Indianapolis for exhibitors, attendees and educational seminars.

Learn more about M-PACT here.

IFRA can assist your company with drug testing through our federal DOT-approved program. The program includes a preemployment test and random test for drivers required to have a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) as well as pre-employment testing for employees using a random, reasonable suspicion, post-accident, or return-to-duty testing. Keep your company in compliance.

Fueling Illinois Multiple Employer Plan 401(k)

Focus more time on growing your business and leave your retirement plan to the experts. No matter how big or small your business, outsourcing some of your non-core tasks makes smart business sense. We have found outside specialists can operate your retirement plan better, faster, and cheaper while giving you more time to focus on growing your business. When your company adopts our Multiple Employer Plan (MEP), everything about your 401(k) plan gets better. Not only will you reduce your fiduciary responsibility because we take over as the plan sponsor, but you’ll also have access to a best-in-class investment menu professionally managed by fiduciaries. And, if you are like most, you’ll find your 401(k) expenses get significantly lower.

IFRA partners with a number of industry leaders to provide members with opportunities that would not otherwise be available.

From credit card processors with discounted rates to bulk energy providers helping secure utility discounts, IFRA partners will save you money.

Any residual payments IFRA makes as a result of partnerships is reinvested into the Association to better help members.

IFRA strives to offer members at least one activity a quarter for members to network with their peers.
